The terms that apply when you use this website or book an appliance repair with Appliance Repair Columbia.
Last Updated: August 22, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or scheduling a service with Appliance Repair Columbia (“we,” “us,” “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this website or our services.
These terms apply to all visitors, customers, and users of this website and to all appliance repair services provided by Appliance Repair Columbia in Columbia, MD and surrounding service areas.
2. Description of Services
Appliance Repair Columbia provides appliance repair and maintenance services, including but not limited to repair of refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, ovens, ranges, dishwashers, garbage disposals, microwaves, and other household or commercial appliances.
Services are provided for residential and commercial customers within our stated service area. We reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion, including but not limited to situations involving unsafe working conditions, non-payment history, or requests outside our scope of expertise.
3. Service Appointments and Scheduling
- Appointment windows are estimates, not guarantees. While we make reasonable efforts to arrive within the scheduled window, delays can occur due to prior jobs running long, parts availability, weather, or circumstances outside our control.
- Same-day service is offered based on technician availability and is not guaranteed for every service request.
- Customers are responsible for providing safe, reasonable access to the appliance requiring service. If a technician cannot access the unit or the work site is deemed unsafe, the appointment may be rescheduled and a trip fee may apply.
- Cancellations or rescheduling requests should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a trip or cancellation fee.
4. Estimates and Pricing
- Diagnostic fees, if applicable, will be disclosed before a technician is dispatched.
- All repair estimates are provided after a technician has physically inspected the appliance. Estimates are based on the information and symptoms available at the time of inspection and may change if additional issues are discovered once repair work begins.
- No repair work will proceed beyond the diagnostic stage without customer approval of the estimated cost.
- Payment is due upon completion of service unless other arrangements have been made in writing in advance.
- Prices are subject to change without notice, but any price agreed upon in a signed estimate or invoice will be honored.
5. Parts and Third-Party Products
- We use new, refurbished, or OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts as appropriate for the repair, and will disclose the type of part used upon request.
- Parts ordered specifically for a repair may be non-refundable once ordered, particularly for special-order or discontinued components.
- Appliance Repair Columbia is not responsible for defects in manufacturer parts beyond the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, though we will assist customers in coordinating manufacturer warranty claims where possible.
6. Workmanship Guarantee
Appliance Repair Columbia provides a workmanship guarantee on labor performed, covering the specific repair completed. This guarantee does not cover:
- Unrelated failures or new issues arising after the original repair
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorized repair attempts by another party
- Normal wear and tear
- Pre-existing conditions not part of the original repair scope
Parts carry the warranty period provided by the manufacturer, which may differ from our labor guarantee.
7. Customer Responsibilities
By scheduling service, the customer agrees to:
- Provide accurate information about the appliance and the issue being experienced
- Ensure a technician has safe and reasonable physical access to the appliance
- Disclose any known hazards at the service location (structural issues, pest problems, prior unpermitted electrical or plumbing work, etc.)
- Make payment in accordance with the terms outlined in Section 4
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Appliance Repair Columbia shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of our services, including but not limited to loss of food, loss of use, or business interruption
- Pre-existing damage or defects not caused by our technicians
- Damage resulting from a customer’s failure to disclose known issues with the appliance, electrical system, plumbing, or property
- Delays caused by parts availability, weather, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control
Our total liability for any claim related to services provided shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
